09 Jul Please The Palate Wine of the Week: Wild Rejoice Postcard Dreams 2023 Rose of Cinsault, Saureel Vineyards, Sierra Foothills AVA
With a name like Wild Rejoice Postcard Dreams, how could you not be curious? I was! This isn’t your average rosé, and it certainly isn’t trying to be. Made from Cinsault in the Sierra Foothills, this 2023 rosé feels like a spontaneous getaway in a bottle. It’s a little wild, a little wistful, and totally worth the trip. It’s flirty, free-spirited, and full of good energy and that’s why the Wild Rejoice Postcard Dreams 2023 Rose of Cinsault, Saureel Vineyards, Sierra Foothills AVA is the Please The Palate wine of the week.
About Wild Rejoice
Wild Rejoice is a family-run winery owned by Michael and Alice Valania. But, they will tell you it’s generally ruled by a five-year-old who knows more about winemaking than most adults, even though he would rather be flying a kite. Based in Sacramento, Wild Rejoice is all about bringing joy, spontaneity, and a sense of everyday adventure to wine. Their low-intervention wines are made for real life: easy to love, easy to share, and ready for whatever the day brings. With a spirit that celebrates the unexpected, Wild Rejoice is wine made to travel light, live fully, and toast often.
Tasting Notes
A versatile 100% Cinsault rosé from the Sierra Foothill, the wine looks more like a light red wine. It has beautiful nose with notes of red currant, rhubarb, raspberry, and violets. On the palate, the wine has a savory texture that first hits the palate and is followed by fresh acidity.
Food Pairing
Rosé is always perfect for the summer season (as well as year round) and the Wild Rejoice Rosé of Cinsault is a perfect summer wine for food as it has body and texture. I enjoyed this wine at a family dinner on a hot summer night. We sat outside, ate barbecue chicken, grilled corn, and salad, and polished off this bottle of Wild Rejoice wine.
