What are spiritual activities?

First, you might be wondering what exactly are spiritual activities? Or, what am I referring to when I say spiritual activity.

Well, some define spiritual practices or activities by saying that they can include a wide range of practices and experiences and that they are aimed at nurturing one’s inner connection, purpose, and sense of transcendence.

But to me, they are things that you can do to connect to your inner or higher self (your eternal self) and whatever higher consciousness you believe in (and to remember who you truly are and why you’re here).

How can a spiritual activity help you?

And, how can a spiritual activity help you? This type of activity can help us explore our inner selves, find solace, and seek a deeper understanding of our place in the universe.

In fact, these intentional practices are essential for many in their journey toward a more profound spiritual awareness (or during a spiritual awakening).

From my experience, exploring spirituality helps one feel more connected to all that is, to God and the Universe as well as the Earth and all those who help us from high energy for our highest good. It reminds us that we aren’t alone, even if we feel like we are. It reminds us of our inner power and what we’re really capable of because of who we really are and what we’re connected to. -alb

The best spiritual activities to do, easily

And finally, here are five easy spiritual activities that you can start doing today…

#1 Practice meditation, prayer, & reflection

Practices like meditation, prayer, and reflection can really add to your life in a good way. (I know that was the case for me.)

You can practice reflection by taking some quiet time to be still and reflect on things, so that you gain clarity and can see what’s important to you. This can also help you make decisions that align with you spiritually, that make you feel good, and that are good for you.

As for meditation, there are many ways to do it and I don’t believe it has to be done a certain way.

I personally kind of combine my meditation and prayer time. I do not always just sit trying to have no thoughts (although I’ll often start that way to clear my head, relax, breathe, and tune in), but I’ll relax and tune in to higher guidance (which can turn into a conversation with higher guidance, or what you might interpret as prayer).

I think it’s important to do you your way, and we might do things differently at different stages of our spiritual journey.

Pros of meditation are that it can help to clear your mind, giving you the ability to be more present, more relaxed, and more mindful. It might be important in the beginning to focus just on your breathe and on relaxing.

Prayer is also a powerful spiritual tool. It can help us to connect with our Source, open our hearts and minds, understand more, and grow spiritually overall. With prayer, we can open ourselves to spiritual guidance, receive answers to things, and be comforted and encouraged when we need it.

Prayer or “tuning in” (as I call it) can help us become more aware of the higher guidance available to us that can give us peace, hope, and strength.

#2 Study spirituality

Learning more about spiritual things and growing spiritually can enhance your life and be rewarding.

Just stay open minded. Once I opened my mind to different things, it was like I’d found a whole new world of possibilities and things that I could be a part of. And, that felt good!

I found things that felt right to me and a place or community I belonged with (finally). It was like in the people that were teaching spirituality and were passionate about it, I found like-minded open-minded people that I fit in with and could relate to.

How can you study spirituality?

You can study spirituality by reading books on spiritual topics. There are many different types of spiritual books out there. I’ve found some really helpful & interesting ones on Amazon! I prefer audiobooks, but find what you like.

Another way is to attend lectures or workshops on spiritual topics. You might be able to find these locally, or even online. And, this can also be a great way to meet other people that are into similar things!

You might also be interested in exploring different spiritual practices, beliefs, and traditions. And, you could look to a spiritual teacher or mentor for guidance on spiritual topics.

You could also learn more about different meditation, prayer, and manifestation techniques – depending on what you’re interested in and what helps you.

All of these things will help you grow spiritually and improve your life. They’ll help you get to know yourself better on a spiritual level, and when you know yourself and your source well you’ll live a more authentic, happy life!

#3 Connect with other spiritually-minded people

Another easy spiritual activity is to connect with like-minded people, like people (like yourself) that are into spiritual growth and are on a spiritual journey. And, this might be rewarding, perhaps feeling understood and like you belong.

So, you might try to find a group that can be a strong support system for you, being able to understand the spiritual journey that you’re on. And, it can even be online!

#4 Practice self love and gratitude

My next suggestion for spiritual activities is to practice self-knowledge, self love, and gratitude. In my opinion and from my experience, there is nothing more important.

Connect and remember who you truly are – a divine, eternal being that is connected to all that is and that is accepted and so loved. Remember that this is just an experience here and that it doesn’t define you. This can really help if you’ve gone through a lot, been hard on yourself, or felt unaccepted and unloved.

And once you’ve done all of that, grant yourself grace and love, understanding that you are inherently worthy of it. You don’t have to earn it. So no matter what anyone else does, give yourself love. (You know, I love that saying that sometimes you have to give yourself what others wouldn’t or couldn’t.)

Then, your life will truly change if you begin to practice gratitude daily (and if you already are, that’s wonderful and you already know that this is true). Gratitude changes us and how we see things.

What can you be grateful for each day?

I can tell you that there was a time in my life when I didn’t see much beauty in where I grew up, but now I can see beauty in a bird that flies overhead or even in a wildflower that some might call a weed. It’s all perspective.

#5 Connect to your Source, guides, angels, and nature

Another easy spiritual activity is to spend time connecting to your Source (God, the Universe), to all of those who help you from high energy for your highest good (like angels and guides), and to nature.

You might choose to light a candle, use crystals, or create a relaxing space that you regularly use for this. But, you don’t have to. You might choose to carve out regular time for this each day. I will say that the more you do it the easier it gets.

And then, don’t forget about nature.

Nature is great for helping us feel connected to all that is, to something bigger than ourselves. It’s great for keeping us grounded and helping us see the bigger picture. It helps us relax our minds and more easily receive higher guidance, as well as stay in tune with our intuition. (I say all of this from experience.)
