It’s cozy season and I don’t know about y’all, but to me that means time for sweater updates. I always love checking out what new sweater options are new in stores this time of year because…well, it’s fun and necessary. So…per usual I ordered up a handful of pretty options, in both cardigan and pullover styles, to try on for you, this time from Nordstrom.
8 Cozy Sweaters From Nordstrom: Madewell, Reformation, Free People & More
It’s hard to narrow down choices from a place with so much variety, but I somehow managed to settle on eight sweaters from brands we love for my try-on. We’ve got some Madewell picks, a gorgeous Reformation cardigan, ASTR The Label, Lucky Brand and more.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t go for anything too incredibly heavy or thick because at 47 ya girl is hot these days. I’m sure some of you can commiserate. Don’t worry though, they’re not all cotton sweaters and there are a couple for you chilly peeps, too, and honestly a nice little sampling of some pieces I found to be lovely. If you’re in a hurry? 1 | Reformation Clara Cashmere Crew Cardigan

FIT: Perfectly true to size.
This beautiful sweater was my favorite of the try-on. I’ve tried Reformation sweaters in the past but not this specific style. It is now top of my holiday wishlist. It’s so incredibly soft, fits beautifully (just a bit oversized + boxy = perfection) It comes in a ton of colors both at Nordstrom and at Reformation.
A note on these pretty navy corduroy pants: They’re soft and cute on but lighter weight than I expected. I’d worry they wouldn’t hold up too well. True to size because they give with wear. Wearing a 30, but could have gone with my regular 29.
2 | Free People My Only Sunshine Sweater

FIT: Oversized but not overly long, which I love.
Ok well this one is also a favorite, but obviously in a different way from the first sweater. This FP pullover is a thick cotton knit with the most amazing collar. It’s sooo soft and the shape is just so good. I do worry a bit that it would pull and be a bit delicate, but I almost don’t care because it’s such a great find. Also in shades Marsala, Oregano and Black
3 | Madewell Pointelle Stitch Cardigan

FABRIC: 62% alpaca, 38% polyamide
SIZES: XXS – XXL
FIT: True to size with extra long sleeves.
This one is soooo pretty. And the sleeves are extra long. I don’t have short arms even though I’m 5’4″ but these are a lot of extra length, which I think is good. The shoulders have those cute gathers that aren’t too puffy and the pretty, feminine pointelle knit. It also comes in ivory, navy and light grey.
4 | Madewell Rib Cotton Blend Sweater

FABRIC: 55% cotton, 33% polyamide, 10% merino wool, 2% elastane

FIT: Perfectly oversized in the body but not too big/wide in the sleeves.
This was one of THE softest I tried on. I love this one. I don’t wear a ton of heavier sweaters these days (perimenopause anyone?) but if I did I would be keeping this one. It’s so good. I did try a Small instead of a Medium here because I knew it looked quite big in the body but still had some stretch for the arms/shoulders. I’m currently now talking myself into this one lol.
5 | ASTR The Label Fuzzy Stripe Crewneck Sweater

Gah this one is SO cute, but it’s kinda itchy. And I’m not that sensitive to sweaters, or I didn’t used to be, but I would definitely want at least a camisole underneath, if not a t-shirt. LOVE the stripes though and the fuzzy texture.
6 | Lucky Brand Henley Sweater

FABRIC: 77% polyester, 20% viscose, 3% elastane
SIZES: XS – XL
FIT: Loose through the top but oddly fitted at the waist/lower body.
I had high hopes for this one. But while it looks cute here AND it was super soft, there was just something off about the cut for me. It sat weirdly on my frame. Maybe if you’re taller this would work better.
7 | BP Oversized Cozy V Neck Sweater

FIT: Oversized
Pretty dang soft on this one and a good go-to especially for the price. It was a little long on me, but soft enough to kinda tuck, too. Lots of colors.
8 | Petal + Pup Lilith Elbow Sleeve Cardigan

FABRIC: 50% viscose, 28% polyester, 22% nylon
SIZES: S – XL
FIT: Boxy in the body but the sleeves are weirdly narrow at the bottom for the style
I had higher hopes for this one, too. It fit nicely boxy in the body but the sleeves weren’t as wide as I would have liked them for this style. It just looked odd.
