I have been travelling to Chandigarh quite often and have stayed at my friend, Princejeet Singh’s, place a few times.
Kulcha Theka VIP Road Market is adjoining his apartment complex and has become a favourite for breakfast in Zirakpur.
Once, I took my son Sidhant shopping for his cricket equipment, and it became our lunch stop as well. Sidhant also loves it now. Kulcha Theka is that contagious. He now asks for it whenever we go that way.
Kulcha Theka is a greatly recommended joint for breakfast in Zirakpur, I have observed. Each time I have visited, I have had to wait for a few minutes before getting a table.
The food appeals to all age groups, so you’ll find families taking over the seating spaces quite often.
So, it is fairly obvious that Kulcha Theka serves a variety of puffed, golden-brown kulchas with an amazing taste, at reasonable prices. Their chole tastes well & has been tasting the same since the first time I ate here.
So their food is consistent too. They serve regular tandoori kulcha as well as the crispy goodness of our Chur Chur Kulcha along with Chole Bhature and Poori.
Their kulcha is always crispy and flaky and well-filled with the requested stuffing. It is served with chole, white butter and a splendid pudina pyaz imli ki chutney that reminds you of Amritsar.
Having tried almost their entire menu, I can easily state they serve awesome food with a very wholesome taste & textures from commonly available Amritsari Kulcha outside Amritsar.
By serving freshly baked kulcha on the table with required delectable accompaniments, we are confident about what they’re talking about and what they’re doing.
Having eaten here in person and ordered in for breakfast at Princejeet’s house several times, I can tell that making the customers happy is their main priority.
I have always got what I have ordered, always piping hot and have not encountered anything to be not happy about.
The food is always excellent and very filling. There is a value for money for Amritsari Kulcha outside Amritsar, and it is found here.
Today, keeping up with the times, I was pleasantly surprised by their vegan options for Kulcha. I appreciate a restaurant that caters to various dietary preferences, and Kulcha Theka delivered.
The staff is also very friendly and accommodating, and that has not escaped my notice. Indeed, people don’t come back just for food. They come back for how they made you feel.
Their sweet blended lassi with elaichi is a creamy, frothy, refreshing drink that’s great year-round. It is perfect for cooling your body on a hot day or cooling your mouth after eating a plate of spicy Kulcha.
