OnePlus has been hyping its midrange 15R and Pad Go 2 for weeks now, and today, the official launch happened. I do have the Pad Go 2 and the 15R here for review, but I am just getting them today. Since I was on vacation, my units were held up in shipping due to my being away. So expect some content on these devices coming soon. If I had gotten them before I left, I would have had something up. Here’s what the press release had to say about these new OnePlus devices.

OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2 Are Official
15R

The OnePlus 15R’s spectacular performance begins with its chipset, the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Gen 5 mobile platform, co-defined and co-optimized over 24 months by Qualcomm and OnePlus. The OnePlus 15R is the first device launching globally to feature the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 5 and sees 36 percent faster CPU speeds, 11 percent faster GPU speeds, and 46 percent better AI performance than the previous generation chipset.
Alongside the new chipset, the OnePlus 15R also features LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 ROM for blistering fast speeds when creating, copying, or moving data. The OnePlus 15R also leads the way with its battery, the largest ever shipped in a OnePlus flagship device. The 7,400 mAh battery inside the OnePlus 15R, equipped with OnePlus’s 55W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology, is built to run in the harshest environments on earth and keep running with at least 80 percent capacity after four years. It’s also built with OnePlus’ Silicon Nanostack technology, with 15 percent silicon content inside its anode, providing excellent energy density.
A 360-degree Cryo Velocity Cooling System covers OnePlus 15R from front to back for all its cooling needs. This starts with the Cryo Velocity Screen Cooler, just under the display, which uses aerogel—the lightest solid in the world—to give the OnePlus 15R’s display excellent thermal protection from heat generated inside the phone.
Next comes the Cryo Velocity 3D Vapor Chamber, which is built with a proprietary design specifically created to cool high-end processors, measuring 5,704 mm. This features a range of materials, including an industry-first hand-tearable steel, to dissipate huge levels of heat. Finally, the OnePlus 15R’s Cryo Velocity Back Cover features a layer of graphite across the lower half of the phone to give that extra bit of cooling across its chassis.
At the front of the OnePlus 15R is the highest refresh rate screen ever shipped by OnePlus—a 165 Hz LTPS 1.5K AMOLED display. Measuring 6.83 inches and featuring 450 pixels per inch, it can go as high as 1800 nits of brightness and as low as 1 nit with Reduce White Point activated. The OnePlus 15R possesses an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for rapid unlocking. It also features a dedicated Touch Response Chip to ensure OnePlus’ highest refresh rate screen is also its most sensitive, featuring an industry-leading instant touch sampling rate of 3,200 Hz for super smooth scrolling.
Surrounding the display is a design built to provide superior in-hand comfort, whether you’re holding the OnePlus 15R horizontally or vertically. The design includes new rounder corners and a smooth transition to the device’s mid-frame, as well as a redesigned camera bump to cut down on fatigue when holding the device for an extended period.
The OnePlus 15R is available in two colorways in North America. The first, Charcoal Black, creates a clean look with a warm, soft touch. The second, Mint Breeze, is a crisp green designed to mesmerize with a subtle shimmer. Both Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze colorways feature Velvet Glass technology to make sure they feel great in your hand. Whichever colorway you choose, the OnePlus 15R is covered by four separate IP ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
In addition to providing powerful performance, the OnePlus 15R also features strong photography capabilities. This starts with a 32-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus and a 50-megapixel main camera, the same IMX906 sensor found on the OnePlus 15, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 112-degree field of view.
This hardware is combined with powerful software, including the new OnePlus DetailMax Engine found in OnePlus 15, to create incredible results. All three DetailMax Engine technologies from the OnePlus 15—Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and the Clear Night Engine—are also present in the OnePlus 15R. The OnePlus 15R can also record 4K video at up to 120 frames per second and then go on to edit the footage directly on the device, meaning that capturing glorious action videos is now easier than ever.
Pricing and Availability
In both the United States and Canada, the OnePlus 15R and accessories will be available for pre-order on December 17, 2025, with open sale following on January 8, 2026.
Pad Go 2

The OnePlus Pad Go 2’s high-quality experience starts with its 12.1-inch or 30.73 cm display that provides a seriously immersive viewing experience. Additionally, the display’s 7:5 ReadFit aspect ratio and massive 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio work together to deliver a comfortable experience whether you’re viewing or writing.
The display also features 284 pixels per inch, 98% DCI-P3 color coverage, and 900 nits HBM brightness and supports Dolby Vision for amazing media playback. Powering the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra octa-core chipset. Built on an advanced 4nm process, this chipset allows OnePlus Pad Go 2 to deliver the same powerful and reliably smooth performance in four years as on day one, as certified by TÜV SÜD Fluency testing.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 also features a massive 10,050 mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC charging, which allows for up to 15 hours of video, 53 hours of music, or a full 60 days of standby power. The battery even supports reverse cable charging, allowing you to send power from the tablet to a phone in an emergency.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is the first member of the OnePlus Pad Go series to support a stylus, called the OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo. Sold separately, the Stylo delivers low latency, high sensitivity, and fast charging with just ten minutes of charging from zero percent battery, giving it enough power for half a day’s use.
When using the Stylo in the OnePlus Notes app, you can gain access to a range of handwriting features—such as the handwriting calculator and handwriting enhancement—that enable a smarter and smoother note-taking experience. Moreover, you can simply tap OnePlus Pad Go 2’s screen with the Stylo when it’s switched on to instantly open the Notes app.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 also takes smoothness to another level with OxygenOS 16, the latest version of OnePlus’ beloved operating system. It includes a wide range of AI tools for helping you work smart and play harder. OxygenOS 16 also provides access to Open Canvas, widely seen as one of the best ways to multitask on a tablet, allowing users to effortlessly switch between up to three windows, with two apps open and a third in a floating window.
