2025 Year in review – Do Good Events

Once again, we sit here in reflection and are absolutely blown away by the year! 2025 was one for the record books in so many ways. From fundraising to event days, the good vibes rolled on. Our community is generous, our team is top-notch, the event vibes are hopping, and events are truly the best.

Lets unpack what was 2025:

It began with some nerves. There was worry in the non-profit world about increasing costs and how that would impact people’s capacity to give. There were changes happening with a new administration that had dramatic impacts for many of our clients. Whether it was a fundraising event or a corporate conference, we all experienced a level of trepidation. There was the constant battle with instant gratification from online experiences and how that would impact in-person attendance.

The nerves were real but the results were inspiring. The community stepped up and most non-profit events saw equal or greater fundraising totals than last year! Attendance was up with many events selling out and with low no-show rates. The energy in the room was palpable with emcees often using every trick in the book to get audiences to take their seats! It was a delightful year to be in the room for this amazing events.

Yes, budgets were tight. Event organizers were making very intentional choices about where they were spending their dollars to ensure the highest net revenue possible. We were conscious of the perceived spend of the event to attendees. Sponsors were critical in allowing organizations to get a running start on their fundraisers and most of our clients saw their key sponsors return abundantly.

Our vendors rose to this challenge too. Many found ways to elevate the experience for guests without creating an increased line item. They were creative, nimble, and incredible partners to us and each and every event. They also made sure they brought high quality and that no two events were the same.

The biggest reflection of 2025

We love our jobs and we are grateful to do this work. After a few years of being reactive with how a pandemic impacted events, we have found our groove again. We were grateful to lean on one another this season and have clients that are partners. Events don’t happen in a silo – it takes a team working together to achieve a common goal and this year was one we are so proud of!
