
Hey folks, I am back with an exciting recipe. Akki-roti is famous and delicious food in Karnataka.
It is simple easy and tasty recipe. Akki means rice bread and is popular in breakfast. It is made of rice flour, salt, chopped onion etc. It is flat bread and accompanied with Sambar.
Ingredients :
Rice flour – 1 cup
Chopped Onion – 1/4 cup
Chopped Green chillies – 2 tbsp
salt to taste
water – to knead
Oil – 2-3 tbsp
Method :
- In a bowl, add rice flour , chopped onion, chopped green chillies , salt to taste.
- Mix well all the ingredients.
- Knead the dough with the help of water.
- Make the dough soft and smooth.
- Rest the dough for 20-25 min.
- Cover the dough with wet muslin cloth.
- After 20-25 min, knead the dough for 1 min.
- Take small portion of dough, roll in round shape slowly with the help of hand or you can take help of parchment paper.
- With the help of parchment paper, grease it with oil. Put small proprtion of ball shape on the paper, on the top of it place another parchment paper.
- Roll it in round shape with help if rolling pin and once it reached desired shape, place it on tava and roast both the sides with 1-2 tbsp of oil.
- Make remaining of the roti’s.
- Serve with Hot sambar and coconut chutney.
