BEING TRANSFORMED //CHRISTIAN WOMAN DISCUSSION #17 – TRYING TO BE A GOOD CHRISTIAN WOMAN

How many of you who are new to the faith, and even if you’re not, have asked yourself: “When do I know I’ve gotten transformed in regards to my relationship with the Lord? The same question applies to those who have increased their involvement in this relationship.

The transformation takes place gradually without any real noticeable sign until you’ve reached an epiphany, or in other words, a moment of sudden revelation or insight.

The blog you’re reading this post on is a result of the transformation that has taken place in my life. Prior to my becoming the Christian woman I am today, I’d never been very religious; going to services for the crucial holidays had been the extent of my religious participation even as a child. The Lord is said to move in mysterious ways; however, He moves in the way of His choosing.

For me: I’ve written secular books: A YA Paranormal romance novel, a collection of 100 Flash Fictions, and even, I hate to admit, an erotic romance novella. I’ve also reviewed a broad spectrum of books from various genres, including true crime books, for which Amazon has awarded me a badge recognizing me as a Top Contributor in the genre. In 2019, I experienced a shift in the genres I’ve had reviewed, as about 45% of the 260+ books I’d reviewed were now for nonfiction Christian books.

I didn’t think much of it; however, this experience led me to write not one, but two Christian fiction books, which I published on January 22, 2020. The strange thing is, I had manuscripts for three more secular books that I’m now still writing. And even though I had a secular blog going, the publication of these books inspired me to start writing this blog, first on BlogSpot.com and now, here on WordPress.com.

For some reason, each time I posted an entry in which I’d shared the word of our Lord, a warm, comforting feeling came over me. It has taken me a while to realize that I’m now a transformed Christian woman who relishes sharing the Lord’s word with others each day. And in doing so, I now feel fulfilled in ways I haven’t experienced previously. My reviewing of books has also changed; for this year, almost 72% of the 145+ reviews I’ve written have been for nonfiction Christian books. The more books I review, the more knowledgeable I’ve become in expressing my adoration for the Lord.

For many of you reading this, the transformation might have occurred when you got married. Others of you might have had the desire to finally transform the sinful or nonreligious life you’d been living into something that would be more rewarding, both mentally and physically. And found the way to your redemption and ultimate transformation through reading the Lord’s word daily and meditating on what you’ve read.

There’s a reason I haven’t included any scripture in the above. The reason is I want those who are reading this to go forth and search for themselves what transformation is all about. I want readers to discover if a transformation might already be occurring in their lives without their realization.
