Book Review: Quarter to Midnight (Romantic Suspense #26, New Orleans #1) by Karen Rose

Quarter to Midnight has everything I love in a Karen Rose book, a great mystery, a lovely romance and great thriller moments.

PLOT: Quarter to Midnight follows Gabe Hebert and PI Molly Sutton as they investigate Gabe father death a cover up that goes back to the day of Katrina.  The story is told via 4 POV, Gabe and Molly, Xavier who is the person connected to the original cover up and the bad guys POV.  Having the multiple POV it keeps the story moving, never giving a dull moment. It also give you clues and makes you want to figure out who Jackass is, how it’s all connected. There is a lot of corruption in this book and you never know who you can trust.

CHARACTERS: I really liked that the ‘Kick Ass’ member of the duo is female and that although Gabe want to keep her safe he will defer to her when they get it to more trouble. I like the dynamic between Gabe and Molly. They worked well together and i love the flirting and the growth of their feelings. My favourite duo is between Xavier and his best friend Carlos. They are really brother from other mother. The support each other and even bring in some lighter moments.

WRITING STYLE:  I love Karen Rose writing style, its easy to read, I know i will happily stay up late to reading what going to happen next. She is already good at balance the mystery with the romance.

THEME: Murder, corruption, romance, mystery, abuse, Thriller, blackmail, betrayal.

Overall a great mystery, I was not disappointed with the book.

My rating for Quarter to Midnight is 5 out of 5 stars.
