BSF jawan killed colleague, riddled him with 13 rounds of firing



It was a sensational case revealed on Saturday midnight of June 14, 2025, when a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan killed his fellow colleague with a rifle. It has shaken up the place. The dead jawan is Ratan Lal Singh, who was 38 years of age, and the accused S.K. Mishra has been arrested by the police. Both these jawans were serving at BSF’s 119 battalion.

According to police and BSF sources, the incident took place in the Samsherganj area of ​​​​Murshidabad. Both the jawans were posted on duty when they had a dispute with each other over something. The dispute escalated so much that S.K. Mishra fired 13 rounds of bullets at Rattan Lal Singh from his service rifle. Five of these bullets hit Rattan Lal in the chest, killing him on the spot.

As soon as the incident was reported, the BSF and local police reached the spot. The accused jawan was taken into custody, and his rifle was seized. Initial investigation revealed that there was a personal dispute between the two jawans, which led to this tragic incident. The police have registered a case, and the BSF has also started an internal investigation.

There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after this incident. Locals said that such a large number of bullets being fired created panic at night. A senior BSF officer said that such incidents are unfortunate and the matter is being thoroughly investigated.

Ratan Lal Singh’s family and colleagues have demanded strict action against the accused. Rattan Lal’s family has been informed, and his body has been sent for postmortem.
