This is the seventh Citizen Japanese dealer catalog issued for the first half of 1971. These early catalogs are approximately B5 sized and contain both men’s and women’s watches.

The 1971 No.7 Citizen dealer catalog introduces various new models and you can see the continuing evolution of the range. The catalog starts off with the X8 Chronometer models, but unfortunately it does not feature the world’s first titanium cased watch that had been released in September the previous year. This is not surprising as the model had limited distribution so excluding this from the general dealer catalog makes sense.

The ChronoMaster models presented are reduced from 17 models in the previous issue to just six models in this issue.

A pair of Leopard Superbeat 10 models with 18K gold cases were introduced.

The IC-12 was introduced in May 1970 and was the first domestically produced women’s three-hand electronic watches to use an IC. The IC-12 utilized the calibre 5800 and was named due to its 12-beat (43,200 bph) balance motor, resulting in a high precision equivalent to a chronometer-grade watch. The extremely angular and distinctive cased 0701-21 model is my personal favorite of these initial models.

The shift towards larger ladies models can be seen in this catalog. While there are still numerous small ladies models, the percentage of much larger models has increased notably.
