Homemade Doughnut Bath Bombs Recipe

I don’t know about you, but I seriously LOVE my relaxing bath nights or what I call a spa night at home. I usually go all out and do a facial, exfoliate, listen to music, a foot scrub, and of course a relaxing bath with a bath bomb or two.

My favorite bath bombs are from Lush, but they aren’t really in my budget right now.

I decided I wanted to start making my own bath bombs. Everyone at our home loves donuts, so I decided to make some sprinkled donut bath bombs. The best thing is, once you buy the ingredients to make this recipe, you’ll have a ton of ingredients leftover to experiment and make even more bath bombs.

Homemade Bath Bombs Recipe (In a Fun Doughnut Theme!)

The possibilities are endless. Here’s the recipe so you can make the doughnut bath bombs too. Of course, you can always use different molds for a new theme too!

In a large bowl, mix together the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch and epsom salts. (I found some lavender epsom salts! Double dose of lavender – yay! HELLO SLEEP!!!)
If you are doing different colors of doughnuts – divide your mixture up at this point.
Add coloring slowly. You don’t want it to fizz!
Pour in melted coconut oil and add your lavender essential oils. Mix well.
In a spray bottle, add witch hazel. Lightly mist a few times until it will hold it’s shape. Go sparingly with the witch hazel – you won’t need much!
Lightly spray your doughnut pan with non-stick spray. Press your mixture into the mold and allow to sit overnight. (If you don’t have overnight, letting them sit for several hours should do the trick as well!)
In a bowl, melt some goat’s milk soap base according to package instructions.
Dip the top of the doughnut into the soap and set it to dry. It won’t take long!
Re-dip your doughnuts again and immediately add sprinkles. We used rainbow sprinkles. Let them sit until dry and fully set. It shouldn’t take longer than 10-15 minutes.
After that, all you have to do is let them dry. I usually place mine overnight on a cooling or baking rack. The next day they’re completely hard and ready to use or give as a gift! My girls just LOVE these. Let me know if you make them, and let me know if you come up with any other ideas.

Doughnut Bath Bombs Recipe

An easy DIY recipe to make homemade bath bombs at home, shaped like doughnuts! Kids love these!

Yield: 4 Bath Bombs

1 Doughnut Baking Tray
1 Mixing Bowl
1 Spray Bottle

1 cup baking soda
½ cup citric acid
½ cup corn starch
3 tbsp Epsom salt
3 tsp coconut oil melted
Small spray bottle of Witch Hazel
15 drops of Lavender essential oil or a different oil of your choice
