We don’t have much going on in terms of new entries, but at least we’ve got some tracks making progress up the chart.
1. Sienna Spiro – “Great Expectation”
Three weeks, though needless to say, it would still be behind “Rein Me In” if they were on a level playing field. She also has “Die On This Hill” just outside the top 10 as it comes up for its first anniversary in a couple of weeks, and “Pure” is still making progress, climbing to 28 this week.
29. Cloonee & Prospa featuring Tristan Henry – “Good Girl”

The follow-up to “Free Your Mind”, finally reaching the top 40 after two months of climbing from the lower reaches. The previous single was credited to Prospa & Cloonee, while this one is credited to Cloonee & Prospa. We can only imagine the delicate negotiations involved.
There are also re-entries this week for “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn at number 35, “Jamaican (Bam Bam)” by Hugel & Solto at 37, and, god help us, “Mr Brightside” by the Killers at number 40.
This week’s climbers:
- “Boston” by Stella Lefty climbs to number 3 after a month at number 4.
- “Nicole Kidman” by Adéla climbs eleven places to number 4 to become her first top 10 hit, while “Ain’t In LA” returns to its previous peak of number 12. She’s having quite the breakthrough.
- “Babydoll” by Jamie Miller climbs sixteen places to number 8, another unusually steep climb.
- “My Body Isn’t Ready” by Sombr climbs 16-10, finally becoming his fifth top 10 hit in its 13th week on chart.
- “Orbiter” by Noah Kahan climbs 22-18, while “Willing And Able” climbs from 35 to 21.
- “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles – yes, it’s still around – climbs from 21-19, the highest position it’s yet reached in its current run. (It’s made it to number 20 three times before, though.)
- “Pure” by Sienna Spiro climbs 39-28.
The four tracks leaving the top 40 are:
- “Oh Yeah” by Steve Lacy, which peaked at number 18 and lasted seven weeks.
- “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, which reached number 9 three weeks ago.
- “Marianne” by Fontaines DC, which had a month in the top 40, peaking at 19.
- “Sue Me” by Audrey Hobert, which managed eight weeks in the top 40 (after taking forever to get there in the first place), and peaked at number 21.

6. Roger Taylor – “Violence Insane in a Beautiful World”

The seventh solo album by the drummer from Queen. The highest placing was 2021’s “Outsider”, which got to number 3. None of the others made it above number 18. The track above, featuring the Ndlovu Youth Choir and entitled “Come On Summer (It’s Party Time)”, is, if nothing else, not what I’d have expected from a Roger Taylor album.
13. Miley Cyrus – “Bass Persuades”
The title track reached number 31 as a single. It’s her tenth album. The last three all made the top five, so this is low.
15. Beck – “Ride Lonesome”
It’s been six years since the last Beck album. That one underperformed badly, landing at number 33, so this is something of an improvement. He’s mellowing in his middle age.
17. David Bowie – “The Shel Talmy Recordings”

This is a bunch of very early recordings made with producer Shel Talmy in the mid sixties when Bowie was still going by “Davie Jones”, mostly unreleased demos.
19. Echo & The Bunnymen – “Apples for Isaac”
That’s their highest position for a studio album since 1997, when they last made the top 10.
