Jammu Adm Reclaims 130 Kanals State Land in Major Anti-Encroachment Drive



Jammu, Nov 21: The Jammu District Administration on Friday conducted a major anti-encroachment and demolition operation in village Sikanderpur, Bishnah, reclaiming land worth crores that had been illegally occupied.

Officials said the drive was launched on the directions of District Magistrate Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, and carried out in coordination with SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh. The retrieved land, measuring around 130 kanals, had been encroached upon through unauthorized constructions, including by individuals booked under the NDPS Act.

The administration has warned that strict action will follow against any illegal occupation of state land. Authorities added that the reclaimed land will be transferred to the concerned departments, with a portion proposed for developing facilities for Niabat, Patwar Halqa and a Police Post.

The operation was supervised by SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa, and SP Headquarters Jammu, Irshad Rather, in the presence of Tehsildar Bishnah, Ankush Tripathi; SDPO R S Pura, Gurmeet Singh; SHO Bishnah, Rakesh Jamwal; and teams from the Revenue and Police departments. (Agencies)
