Shrek 2 Remastered leaks ahead of the Xbox ID reveal

The internet loved Shrek, and a brief glimpse of the green ogre in a trailer for the ID@Xbox event on October 20 had fans in a tizzy.

A Microsoft minion over on the Xbox store did not get the memo and has published a listing for Shrek 2 Remastered on the Xbox store, with the game being published by Aspyr.

Someone else has ripped the promotional video from the Xbox store but only uploaded it 480p, which misses the point of a remaster, but there are some proper screenshots at the end of this page.

Originally released in 2004 and published by Activision, the game roughly follows the plot of the second film with Shrek and Fiona on the way to visit the in-laws.

Players must work their way through eleven levels, playing as one of four characters, with each level having a specific goal such as guiding the three blind mice back home safely. There are also mini-games including one that involves punching chickens. It also has local and online co-op for up to four players.

Scoring reviews in the mid 70s, the game went on to ship more than five million copies.  Shrek was last seen on consoles in the fairly average Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing game.

It’s unclear if this will be an Xbox exclusive; it would have been if Activision had remained the publisher, but Aspyr usually releases multi-platform titles.
