&Siblings : The Bottom Line

&Siblings is a funny little place – if I lived in the area, I would be here every day : it’s quaint, convenient, got a decent selection of beers on tap, as well as to takeaway, and finally, an at-home atmosphere. I felt welcome, I felt relaxed, and I felt like I could easily while away a good couple of hours here without a care in the world. However, the prices left me feeling a bit cold and were at the high end, considering what other places are in the area – and that’s a shame. If you’re in the area, either pre- or post-shinkansen trip, and looking for a couple of local craft beers, then you could do worse than &Siblings.

&Siblings : Background

&Siblings is a craft beer bar that opened in Shin-Yokohama on March 1st 2026, inside the Shin-Yokohama Food Center building (新横浜食料品センター), roughly a five to seven-minute walk from Shin-Yokohama Station. It’s the sister location of the original Siblings bar near Myorenji Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, and the whole operation is run by two sisters who previously worked as bus tour guides. The two sisters previously worked as guides for Hato Bus, the yellow-liveried sightseeing bus company that tours central Tokyo. The older sister, Reina, joined first, and later invited her younger sister, Iku, to work as a guide alongside her.

&Siblings : Atmosphere & Interior

As you approach the Shin-Yokohama Food Center building, there is a faint reminisce to the old Brimmer Beer Box – containers being upcycled and used for shops instead of going to waste in some corner of the country. In spite of the rather industrial outside facade to the location, as you enter &Siblings, you’re greeted by a light and airy feeling, helped by the large windows on three sides of the bar.

Inside, there is space for around 20 people, either seated at some of the various tables, counter seats, or window bench seats, with some space for standing inside too. There is also an outside area for those with dogs, or young kids, which is nicely covered by the second floor containers. The only reason I didn’t sit outside on the day was because it was almost 35c and I would have been burnt to a crisp. &Siblings has no table charge and both inside and outside are non-smoking places. I didn’t notice any free WiFi though I wasn’t really looking for it as my phone reception was fine.

&Siblings : Beer & Tap Information

There are usually eight taps available at &Siblings, though one of those taps is for Sapporo Black Label, so you can come here with your non-craft beer drinking friends. The other seven taps are primarily for domestic craft beer, with half pints (240 ml) from ¥1,150 and pints (470 ml) from ¥1,500. Unfortunately, on the day I went, both the beers I ordered kicked so I didn’t manage to get a full pint of either… So don’t worry, the beers don’t come with that much head thankfully! There is a decent, yet eclectic, range of styles on tap, with only two IPAs on the taplist on the day I went.

There is also a fridge of beers at the back of the bar, with beers available for drinking in, or for takeaway, with takeaway beers getting a ¥200 discount. The cans aren’t cheap by any means with some of them being close to ¥1,600 for 350 ml. I did think about picking some up, but seeing as that I can get them for half the price online, I wasn’t in such a hurry to pick any of them up.
