Teho and Thaylo first worked together on “Belong,” which came out earlier this year on Labo T., the label Teho founded in Montpellier in 2016. That track pulled the label out of a year-long silence. Now the two French producers are back with “Lose Myself,” this time with vocalist S:NE.
“Lose Myself” unfolds gradually. The early sections establish a rhythmic foundation and a sense of forward motion. New elements enter the frame one at a time. Each layer adds pressure. A synth line tightens. A drum pattern sharpens. The low end grows more insistent. By the time the track reaches its final section, the accumulated energy has nowhere to go but outward, and the release lands with a weight that feels physical.
The production keeps climbing, but S:NE’s voice stays grounded. Without her, the track might tip into pure tension. With her, the build has a reason. The feeling of losing yourself becomes something you can actually hear. The vocal floats above the rhythm without fighting it. The track opens up at the end, like a held breath finally let go.
“Lose Myself” is about letting go. The letting go happens when you stop resisting what a moment is offering. The production mirrors that idea. It creates the conditions for it. The tension builds because that is what makes the letting go feel like something. The vocal stays soft because that is what makes the surrender feel human.
