Iceland with kids was one of our favorite family trips, and I would absolutely do it again. This 10 day Iceland itinerary gave us enough time to experience the Golden Circle, South Coast, Þingvellir National Park, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon, waterfalls, black sand beaches, volcanoes, hot springs, and so many of the incredible landscapes that make an Iceland road trip unforgettable. Visiting Iceland for Spring Break also gave us a really unique mix of seasons.
We experienced snow-covered landscapes and frozen waterfalls while still having enough daylight for full days of exploring. If you’re considering a winter trip to Iceland with kids but are nervous about traveling during the darkest or coldest months, late March and early April can be a great time to visit. The weather absolutely impacted some of our plans, but being flexible was part of the adventure. I hope our firsthand experience helps you plan your own Iceland family vacation and shows that an Iceland road trip with kids, even with a toddler, is absolutely doable and SO worth it.
