TranslateAble, the only language agency dedicated to the events industry, has launched Multilingual Stand Staffing, a new service that embeds experienced language professionals directly into exhibitor teams on the show floor. Designed to remove the language barrier between exhibitors and buyers, the service helps stands convert more visitors into qualified leads.
Rather than acting purely as an interpreter, each Multilingual Stand Staffing professional works alongside the exhibitor’s own stand team for the duration of the show, supporting meetings and walk-ups so that every conversation with a buyer has a greater chance from the get-go.
The service was developed in response to growing demand from organisers welcoming increasingly international audiences to their events. It’s a fit for any exhibitor, even a domestic company exhibiting at a domestic show may find a large share of buyers on the day are travelling in from overseas.
Julia Danmeri, Founder and CEO of TranslateAble, spent over 20 years working globally in event operations before founding TranslateAble. That experience gave her a first-hand view of how much organisers invest in attracting international exhibitors and buyers to a show and how easily a key conversation on the stand can be missed, or feel clumsy, simply because of a language barrier.
“Many organisers spend huge amounts of effort and budget attracting international exhibitors and visitors to a show,” said Danmeri. “I know exactly how much that audience matters to a show’s growth story and to the ROI for exhibitors. But if an exhibitor’s stand team can’t communicate with a buyer the moment they step onto the stand, that can be a missed opportunity. This service closes that gap and gives organisers something practical they can recommend directly to their exhibitors to improve their show return on investment.”
Wherever possible, language professionals are sourced locally to the host city, reducing cost and environmental impact in line with TranslateAble’s commitment to taking meaningful action on ESG and continuously improving its business practices to support a more sustainable and inclusive events industry.
The service has already been in place with exhibitors at the International Food & Drink Exhibition (IFE) in March, and is now being offered to exhibitors across the 2026 IAAPA portfolio of events held in the USA, UK, Abu Dhabi and Japan.
Organisers can introduce Multilingual Stand Staffing to exhibitors through exhibitor manuals, marketing toolkits and pre-show communications giving exhibitors a simple, bookable way to prepare for buyers and improve the visitor experience across the show floor.
“Anything an organiser can do to help exhibitors succeed strengthens the value of the whole event,” added Danmeri. “Exhibitions are such a fantastic platform for companies to build global connections and new business but a language barrier between exhibitors and buyers can get in the way of that. This service is designed to close that gap and create better meeting experiences on the stand. We believe that’s a better outcome for the exhibitor, the buyer and the show itself. ”
TranslateAble provides interpretation services, multilingual sign language interpreting and translation to organisers, venues and event suppliers across the world and is trusted by names such as London Book Fair, MCM Comic Con, SXSW London and Excel London, among many others. It has recently been named a finalist for Company of the Year, Team of the Year and Sustainable Business of the Year for this year’s Association of Translation Companies (ATC) Language Industry Awards.
