“With this group of pest management firms collaborating with us on ATAHC, we have one of the most comprehensive teams of service professionals in the world addressing pests in affordable housing,” said Joseph Latino, president of Allergy Technologies.
ATAHC is designed as a property-wide, proactive pest management approach that focuses on reducing infestations of bed bugs, rodents, cockroaches and other pests. It combines multiple intervention strategies including product application, best management practices, and resident engagement.
ATAHC emphasizes prevention and long-term outcomes. One key feature of the program is its focus on building trust with residents, an approach that has significantly reduced forced-entry rates during pest control visits, according to Allergy Technologies.
The Philadelphia Housing Authority, the first to implement the program, reported a reduction of more than 95% in mice and cockroach activity, along with a 98% drop in bed bug reintroductions, the company said.
Because the initiative is property-wide, the program can also reduce time and labor spent on repeated service calls, allowing pest control professionals to focus resources more efficiently.
“We welcome Viking and Anderson to the ATAHC network,” Latino said. “Their expertise will support our efforts to improve pest control outcomes in affordable housing nationwide.”
