Never underestimate the power that boredom can have on a person’s creativity.
Just take a look at this “Mad Max” version of a 2014 Corvette if you don’t believe us.
Owner Mike Mahdi of Georgia explains in a recent visit with Max Moskal of the Subdivision Auto YouTube channel how he came up with the idea for this car that is now hardly recognizable as a C7 yet still has much of Chevy’s original handiwork hiding underneath.

“We got bored one day really,” he says simply.
But there’s much more to this car’s story than simple boredom, though.
Mahdi says he bought a wrecked C7 that just needed a front bumper and fender, but he definitely took things a lot further than simply returning the car back to its original much more sedate stock form.

“I wanted a Corvette, but then I didn’t want your granddaddy’s Corvette,” Mahdi explains.
“I wanted something safe, because in stock Corvettes, if you hit anything, you’re done for,” he adds.
“I wanted something you could plow through, but you can’t do that with aluminum, so I just threw a bunch of steel on there to see what happens.”
What happens depends on which month you see the Mad Max.

It’s now in its fifth design variation, with an exoskin tube frame underneath the current steel skin hiding some of the original Arctic White body panels that remain in place.
Not surprisingly, all that additional steel has made the car much bigger – it’s now 91 inches wide – some 17 inches more than the 2014 stock version of 73.9 inches. It also weighs a whopping 4,300 pounds, about 1,000 more than the original but still less than a Hellcat!
Performance still isn’t an issue, though, because an 875 horsepower engine has been installed under that wild exterior.

Coupled with the massive steel additions, this Corvette will definitely take care of any situation.
“It’s straight beef,” Mahdi boasts. “If you wanted to plum it through the wall, the wall’s not going to stop this thing. It’s going to crack the concrete barriers, honestly.”
