Pont du Gard
by Wendy VanHatten
When visiting France near Avignon, the Pont du Gard is an absolute must. Built to allow the aqueduct of Nimes to cross the Gard River, this bridge is almost 50 km long. It stands about 50 m high, with three levels. This technical, amazing bridge was built by Roman architects and engineers well before the Christian era.
Check their website to get tickets to walk across it…inside of course. https://pontdugard.fr/en/getting-here
