- The collaboration aims to champion diversity and inclusivity in the hospitality sector, raising funds for Equal Measures UK
In celebration of International Women’s Day (8th March), premium soft drink and mixer brand Franklin & Sons is teaming up with cocktail venue Equal Parts to host an unmissable evening of cocktails, music, and community on Sunday 9th March. The event, in partnership with No.3 Gin and Fielden Whisky, will see leading bartenders, DJs, and industry professionals come together to raise funds for Equal Measures UK.
Based in Hoxton, London, Equal Parts is a fully independent, female-run cocktail bar, known for its focus on inclusivity, community, and outstanding mixology. Recently recognised as ‘One to Watch’ in the Top 50 Bars list, the venue continues to pave the way for inclusivity.
On Sunday 9th March, Franklin & Sons will be teaming up with Equal Parts to host a celebration soundtracked by an all-female DJ lineup and a four-person guest bartender shift. The lineup includes leading bartenders from across the UK, including Kim Barrit from Cardiff’s Penny Royal, Elyse Von Ruinn from The Gate Glasgow, Charlotte Malin from Cardiff’s Lab 22, and Amelie Diaz from Mixologya Guide.
At the event, guests can enjoy a selection of three signature cocktails and two classic serves crafted with No.3 Gin and Fielden Whisky, expertly paired with Franklin & Sons’ award-winning premium mixers and flavoured tonics.
£1 for each drink purchased from the curated menu will be donated to Equal Measures UK, a non-profit organisation dedicated to delivering intersectional diversity in the drinks and hospitality industries. The organisation aims to build awareness of obstacles faced by marginalised groups, improving hiring practices, and implementing safeguarding policies to create a more inclusive industry.
Patrons will also have the opportunity to donate to Equal Measures UK directly via a QR code displayed on the menu. In addition, the specially curated menu will be available from Saturday 1st March – Monday 31st March for guests to enjoy throughout the month.
Lauren Edwards, Brand Manager at Franklin & Sons commented: “Here at Franklin & Sons, we’re thrilled to be teaming up with Equal Parts, No.3 Gin, and Fielden Whisky this International Women’s Day, bringing together some of the most talented and inspiring figures in the industry.
“By creating spaces for dialogue and celebration, we hope to contribute to a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone working in hospitality and raise vital funds for Equal Measures to support the incredible work it does to foster equality and inclusion to create meaningful change.”
Carina Soto, Director at Equal Parts commented: “Although I wish it wasn’t necessary, unfortunately we still live in an unsafe world where our rights can be taken away at any moment. Celebrating women, especially those in the hospitality industry, is more important than ever given the current political climate.
“We must provide visibility and a platform for women in this industry, and this month is the time to do it. We are really excited to work with Franklin & Sons, No. 3 Gin and Fielden Whisky as our partners in this activation, not only because of the quality of the products but also with their teams that have made all of this happen.”
Vicky Ilankovan, Executive Director at Equal Measures UK added: “The fight for women’s rights is a daily mission, and one I believe in wholeheartedly. However, it is vital that, whilst in the midst of a struggle, we are able to lift our heads and celebrate what we have achieved together so far, reflect on how far we’ve come, and refocus on what else must be done.
“International Women’s Day is such a day – a day where we can hold each other up, shine a light on issues we face, call for active allyship, and renew our focus towards achieving our collective goals as a society. We are delighted to partner with Equal Parts this Women’s History Month, in association with Franklin & Sons, No 3 Gin, and Fielden Whiskey, to raise funds for Equal Measures’ beneficiaries who have faced systemic barriers to their career progression. Collaboration, community, and care are how we will improve this industry for all, and we are grateful for any donations that we will receive.”
