Top 10 Romance Anime Where Older Girl Falls for Younger Boy – If you can’t find someone your own age, then there’s always the option to move for bigger options. By that, I mean older options. Here are 10 romance anime where older girl falls for younger boy. Let’s go!
10. My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999

We’re starting off with a gamer who got an older girl because why the hell not? My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is actually told from the perspective of the girl, but that doesn’t change the fact that Yamada is a high schooler and the girl is a college student.
This is about Akane Kinoshita, a girl who suffers a breakup and decides to get back to her boyfriend during a live MMO event, but things change when she meets this guy called Yamada during the event. This is more of a post-breakup story and teaches how people cope with lost relationships and how they find new ones along the way.
A lot of people might think this is a shoujo anime, but it actually isn’t. Our boy Yamada also gets so much focus as the anime progresses because Akane helps this guy come off his antisocial vibe.
9. Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?

Well, the title should pretty much explain it at this point. This is about students falling in love with their teachers, which automatically makes this eligible for this list.
Rather than one couple, this actually follows four students and four teachers as they slowly learn they have feelings for each other. What’s great is how each student and teacher has a different trope, so the romance is never really boring.
From the first episode itself, you’ll pretty much get an idea of what kind of show this is. Let’s just say it has a ton of fan service and it’s not the best show to watch on your family TV. But if you’re tired of romance anime with too much drama and want something lighthearted, then give this one a go.
8. Maison Ikkoku

This is pretty old, and by old, I mean this aired in a time when you didn’t even exist. But then again, there are some older readers on my blog, so if you existed back in 1986, then you probably couldn’t have missed this one.
Maison Ikkoku is about Yuusaku Godai, a guy who lives in an apartment called Ikkoku, and there his life is hell thanks to his neighbors. But things change when a new girl called Kyoko Otonashi becomes the new housing manager.
Maison Ikkoku has the same page-turning drama that you’ve seen in shows like Quintessential Quintuplets, but the difference is how the romance here is miles better than any romance anime coming out nowadays. Sure, since it’s an old anime, you’ve got some old tropes that might be cliché by now, but this is still a masterpiece of an anime.
7. Mysterious Disappearances

This is just like Dandadan but turns Momo into an adult woman who wants to write novels. This story follows Sumireko Ogawa, an aspiring novelist searching for spooky material to spark her creativity.
She teams up with Ren Adashino, a bookstore employee, to investigate strange supernatural happenings. It’s kind of like someone mashed up The X-Files with High School DxD. Does that combo make perfect sense? Not really, but it sure is fun.
Mysterious Disappearances doesn’t have that same quirky energy as Dandadan, but it gives off a similar vibe. I mean, look at the genres—they’re pretty much the same. So if you like Dandadan, you’ll probably enjoy this too. Just don’t expect the whole emotional shounen love drama.
6. Call of the Night

What’s better than a hot vampire girlfriend? A hot adult vampire girlfriend. Call of the Night is about a guy called Kou who has a disease a lot of anime watchers have: he can’t sleep.
One night, Kou meets a mysterious girl named Nazuna Nanakusa. She thinks people stay up late because they’re unhappy with their day and can’t sleep until they let go of their worries. A few moments later, she reveals she’s a vampire. Vampire stories have been done a lot, but this one feels fresh, twisting old tropes into something calm and captivating.
The original manga gave off this chill, lo-fi vibe, and I’m happy the anime went on with that vibe. The dialogue, scenery, and everything feel super relaxing and chill. This might not cure your insomnia, but it will make you want to binge-watch it every night.
5. Domestic Girlfriend

You know we can’t finish this list without this anime. This anime is like a hot slice of pizza—you want to eat it because it’s tasty, but you can’t eat it because it’s too hot. Domestic Girlfriend is about a guy who finds his girlfriends in a domestic household.
Now note how I said girlfriends because this guy tries dating both his sister and his teacher, who also happens to be his sister. Yes, if you try to make a family tree with this guy’s family, you’ll get a shape even famous mathematicians won’t recognize.
All the joking and trolling aside, I think the reason this anime got popular is because of the drama. Yes, at times it feels like your generic soap opera, but when the drama hits the sweet spot, you get a well-written love triangle between three people trying to figure out their feelings. And if you like the anime, read the manga. Like, read it. It’s really great.
4. The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious

Time for the adult maid and the dude with trust issues. Lilith, the housekeeper hired to take care of young Yuuri and the family’s estate, seems almost too perfect to be real.
Every meal she makes is amazing, the house shines after she cleans, and the clothes feel fresher than when she started doing the laundry. But Yuuri can’t take this for granted—he thinks the maid is some kind of witch. I think this could be some kind of “chill with the maid” type of anime.
It doesn’t have some groundbreaking drama or rib-hurting comedy. It’s just a regular romance anime where the guy falls in love with his maid. Along the way, we also get some interesting side characters too. I recommend giving at least one episode a try to see if it’s your style.
3. Love Flops

This is your classic harem tale featuring our main guy, Asahi Kashiwagi, just a regular dude living a normal life—that is, until one random TV program sends everything spiraling out of control. The second Asahi steps outside, his luck goes through the roof like some crazy chain reaction.
He suddenly bumps into not one, not two, but five different girls. Guess what? They all fall for him instantly. I think the one thing that makes this stand out from the rest is the twist that comes somewhere in the middle of this anime.
I can’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say harem anime isn’t used to plot twists like that. Apart from the twist, the characters are pretty nice, and the reason why this anime is on this list is because one of the love interests is a teacher. So give this one a go and get ready for the twist.
2. We Never Learn: Bokuben

Turns out these kids actually enjoy learning, mostly thanks to their awesome teacher who genuinely wants to help them succeed. But what happens when the teacher has a teacher of their own? This sensei takes center stage, outshining the other girls without breaking a sweat.
Of course, there’s a senpai in the mix too, but as always, the sensei steals the show easily. The biggest difference between We Never Learn and shows like Quintuplets is that Bokuben focuses more on studying than on love drama.
Plus, it has a unique ending where you get to choose your favorite outcome. Instead of making the fandom kill each other over every girl, the author decided to give each girl a chance with the main character. So, pick your favorite ending and consider it canon.
1. Murai in Love

I’m pretty sure half of these anime involve teachers, so why not finish with one? This is about a guy called Murai falling in love—I mean, what else did you expect? The only important detail the title doesn’t mention is how Murai falls in love with his teacher.
His teacher’s name is Tanaka, and she’s a huge otaku. In order to make her fall in love with him, Murai decides to play as Tanaka’s favorite character. Now, I know a lot of people hate this anime for the art style, but like a lot of good anime, if you can look past the art style and focus on the story, you’ll see that the art style is just an artistic interpretation.
If you do that, you’ll find a great story that will keep you engaged. If you didn’t catch any of that, I simply just said: watch the anime and ignore the art style—it’s really good. And that’s why it’s number one.
