Plot: Tohma has sneaked off to the Digital World to apprehend Drimogemon on his own. Masaru forces Yoshino to help him follow Tohma and both bring him back and take down Drimogemon on his own terms.

Title Change: “Break Into the Digital World! Drimogemon’s Trap” is changed to “Digital World, Here We Come!”
A regular narrator is doing the recap for the original. Thomas is doing the recap in the dub.
They change Drimogemon’s name card to only say its name in English and remove its evolutionary level.

The transfer preparations were originally 38% at first. They’re 80% at first in the dub.
The dub actually manages to be funnier when Marcus and Agumon enter the Digital World. Masaru says the Digital World is weird because it’s upside down. Agumon points out that HE’S upside down, and Masaru says he knew that. In the dub, the scene goes the same way, but Marcus says “I see” delivered in a very serious tone, so it’s pretty funny.
And then the original takes back the funny ball. In the original, Agumon keeps pointing out Digimon, and Masaru keeps pointing out what they’re doing like it’s impressive, even if they get less impressive the more he goes on. He points out Airdramon, and Masaru says they’re flying. Agumon points out Tsunomon, and Masaru says they’re bouncing. Agumon points out Yokomon, and Masaru points out that they’re walking. In the dub, Marcus responds to each callout with; “You don’t see that everyday”, “Wow, they’re cool!” And the last one is changed fully by having Agumon ask what the Yokomon are, and Marcus says they’re walking plants.
Yoshino says she’s looking for a rich bachelor. In the dub, she says she’s looking for an earring. The dub change is understandable considering she’s still a teenager.
Lalamon says she’ll stay out of this. In the dub, she says she thinks she left her bathtub running.
Drimogemon’s dub voice continues to be distractingly awful. It’s like Pee Wee Herman having a fit.
The blood on Tohma’s leg is removed…..which makes it confusing as to how Marcus and Agumon know Thomas hurt his leg specifically.

Tohma, you can just explain in words why you couldn’t evolve Gaomon. Having him punch the wall to cause tremors when your answer to that question is “Because these caves are unstable due to all the holes and having Gaomon evolve might cause a cave-in and kill us.” is a Masaru move….
Masaru says Tohma is unbearable sometimes and Tohma says Masaru is the same. In the dub, they replace unbearable with “a downer”. Marcus isn’t really a downer, especially after he just got done telling Agumon to think positively, so it’s a bit confusing in the dub.
After Tohma stumbles a bit due to his injury, Masaru asks if he’s okay. In the dub, he asks with a bad attitude “What’s the matter now?!”
Masaru says a real man doesn’t run from challenges. In the dub, they replace “man” with “champion.” I guess they’re going for more gender-neutral language in the dub, maybe. We’ll have to circle back around to that, because he does like bringing up what it takes to be a man.
GeoGreymon’s name is fixed on the screen. To be clear, GeoGreymon’s name is written in katakana as “Jio-Gu-Rei-Mon” meant to be “Geo” and it’s romanized correctly in GeoGreymon’s evolution sequence. This was just a typo Studiopolis caught and fixed. Good job.

Can I add that I’m very sad that this series has seemingly replaced Index screens with just plain white text?
Gotta say, it’s both weird and disappointing that Drimogemon evolved into, of all Digimon, Digmon. I mean, it’s a fully understandable transformation, but ot’s not exactly the most imposing Digimon in the world. Digimon fans know it as a goofy wise-cracking southern guy. Also, isn’t Armor basically on par with or even lower than Champion? Drimogemon was a Champion level. Why is this a huge threatening moment?
Oh great, this Digmon keeps Drimogemon’s goofy Peewee voice….
It sure is great how we can ignore the object horror of this Digmon being slowly burned alive, watching his body crumble to ash, because a Digiegg falls afterward and makes it okay because he’s not dead.
I am still just annoyed at how Masaru’s “Spirit” which is basically just recklessness and hoping things turn out okay, continues to portrayed in a good light. Should you mix instinct and bravery with smart strategies and know-how? Absolutely. But Masaru was just reckless and by his own admission had no idea what he was doing. Everything just happened to work out for the best, and because of that dumb luck it comes off like his way is a good way.
There’s a lyrical song playing in the finale of the battle in the original. After the Digiegg falls in the dub, there’s no music at all, which comes off as awkward.
Masaru says “Did you see that?” Marcus chuckles at the fact that Digmon’s an egg now.
Satsuma addresses the four of them, as in he’s including their Digimon too. In the dub, he addresses the two of them only.

So this was a fine episode for the most part. Exploring the Digital World a bit was fun, and Tohma and Masaru finally coming to respect each other’s skills and becoming true teammates at a fairly natural pace was welcome. Again, I don’t really care for Masaru’s way of doing things being praised, but whatever. The final combined attack was pretty impressive and cool. I wonder if these combined attacks is something they’ll utilize more in the future or just forget about.
The main disappointment was having Digmon be the big reveal of Drimogemon’s evolved form. Maybe someone who’s never seen Adventure 02 would think this is cool, but it’s hard to take him seriously when you have. I don’t hate Digmon, mind you, and I love Armor Digimon, but still.
Like I said, it raises an eyebrow to have them straight out say Digmon is much more powerful than Drimogemon when, logically, he’s not. Again, Armor level is, at best, on par with Champion (Unless you have Golden Digieggs, which make Armor Digimon equivalent to Ultimates). Adventure 02 really acted like it was inferior to Champion with the main benefit being it was a Champion level equivalent you could reach without the Digivolution being stopped by the Control Spires.
I guess Digmon does have much better mobility here over the bulky and clumsy Drimogemon. Digmon moves a lot faster and jumps higher here than I ever saw him doing in 02. Still, though. Keeping the Peewee voice in the dub didn’t help.
Comparison-wise, I was mostly grasping at straws here. It’s an extremely loyal adaptation for the most part, and they even went out of their way to fix a typo. Good job, Studiopolis.
Next time – Well, we made it through an annoying instance of two people bickering, storming off like children, breaking up their partnership, and putting aside their differences to become a strong team. So…..let’s have the next episode be Masaru and Agumon bickering, storming off like children, breaking up their partnership, and putting aside their differences to become a strong team again…..Yay. Also, thanks for spoiling literally everything, next episode preview in the Japanese version. The dub once again fixes this by NOT showing that they make up in the end in their preview.
