A stiff, strong surface, our Bristol is available in two surfaces. Bristol smooth has little to no tooth, making it great for creating fine lines & detailed drawings. It is excellent for mechanical pencil, air brush, marker and pen & ink. Bristol vellum has a subtle tooth which grabs dry media allowing even shading and deeper tones. It is very good for graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, and pastel.
