Well, I know it’s not a popular opinion, but on the whole, I am not a fan of Dogs. They are so needy, always jumping up on you and licking…I Hate licking! They bark a lot, you have to walk them in any weather and don’t even mention picking up poop. Then there is the breath, or just a general smell. However, every once in a while, you meet someone like Sofie. Not only does she smell nice, but she is sensitive to your feelings. Instead of asking “What must you do for me?” She asks, “What can I do for you?” If you feel like snuggling, she’s a world-class snuggler, but if you want to play ball, she’s great at that too. And she can talk! We had many meaningful conversations late at night. She’s most sympathetic. Naturally, her owner wanted a painting of her, which I was delighted to oblige. I do love commissions where there is true affection between the sitter and the artist. Don’t you?
