Crunchyroll is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Overlord anime this month with a special event in theatres. Featuring the initial seven episodes adapted from Kugane Maruyama’s light novel series, Last Night to Login follows the 2024 cinema run of The Sacred Kingdom, the first original film in the series.
The original 2015 Overlord anime was directed by Naoyuki Itō at Madhouse, with Yukie Sugawara handling scripting work. The score was composed by Shūji Katayama. The second and third seasons premiered in 2018, with the fourth season premiering in 2022. The Dark Hero and The Undead King compilation movies were both released in 2017, with last year’s The Sacred Kingdom film covering new material.
Momonga is a regular salaryman who leads a guild in an MMORPG video game. After twelve years of playing the game, the servers are finally shutting down. Momonga logs in for the last time, seeing the game to its end. However, after the clock strikes midnight, nothing changes … and Momonga finds himself playing the game indefinitely and is transported into its world. Throughout his adventures, he ascends to the title of Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown.
The event is intended to run for one-night on November 17th. It will be screened solely dubbed in English. To purchase tickets, click here: Cineplex | Landmark.
