American Express India brings back Spend-based Offers, with up to INR 30,000 worth of rewards on offer

When it comes to spend-based offers, one of the chief proponents in the market is American Express. American Express has rolled out spend-based offers as India enters the festive season. We usually don’t write about them because these are targeted. However, this time, the spend-based offers seem to have been rolled out to a broad base of American Express cardmembers.

American Express has once again rolled out a fresh set of targeted Spend Offers for its cardmembers in India, rewarding those who hit spending milestones over the coming weeks. These offers, which are being distributed on a targeted basis, provide rewards worth up to INR 30,000 in the form of Taj Experiences Gift Cards or promotional vouchers that can be redeemed with Amazon, MakeMyTrip, Swiggy and Uber.

Like previous iterations of American Express Spend Offers, the promotion is structured around different spending thresholds, with cardmembers receiving a corresponding reward once they meet the required spend during the offer period. Depending on the offer targeted to your card, the effective return ranges between 2% and 2.5% over and above the regular Membership Rewards points earned on eligible spending.

American Express Spend Offers, July 2026 Edition

While American Express used to offer some Tanishq vouchers back in the day for festive spending, this time around they have rolled out a much larger bouquet, including Brand Vouchers and Taj Vouchers. All rolled-out offers are valid from July 8 to August 22, 2026, and enrolment is mandatory. There are six different variants of the promotion being sent out to eligible cardmembers. While the reward values differ, the structure remains fairly straightforward—spend a specified amount during the offer period and receive the corresponding reward. Offer 1

Cardmembers targeted for Offer 1 can earn Taj Experiences Gift Cards worth up to INR 30,000.

• INR 10,00,000 Spend unlocks a Taj Voucher worth INR 20,000
• INR 15,00,000 Spend unlocks a Taj Voucher worth INR 30,000

The effective return on this offer is 2%.

Offer 2

Offer 2 is another Taj-focused promotion, but with slightly lower spending thresholds.

• INR 7,00,000 Spend unlocks a Taj Voucher worth INR 15,000
• INR 10,00,000 Spend unlocks a Taj Voucher worth INR 20,000

Interestingly, the INR 7 lakh milestone delivers an effective return of approximately 2.14%, making it marginally more rewarding than the higher milestone.

Offer 3

Offer 3 switches from Taj vouchers to promotional vouchers redeemable at Amazon, MakeMyTrip, Swiggy or Uber.

• INR 4,00,000 Promo Code worth INR 10,000
• INR 7,00,000 Promo Code worth INR 15,000

The INR 4 lakh milestone provides one of the most effective returns in the campaign at 2.5%, while the INR 7 lakh milestone returns around 2.14%.

Offer 4

Offer 4 is designed for more modest spending levels while maintaining the same attractive return.

• INR 2,00,000 Promo Code worth INR 5,000
• INR 4,00,000 Promo Code worth INR 10,000

Both milestones provide an effective return of 2.5%.

Offer 5

Offer 5 further lowers the spending requirement.

Again, both milestones deliver an effective return of 2.5%.

Offer 6

The final variant caters to lower spenders.

The INR 50,000 milestone returns 2%, while spending INR 1 lakh increases the effective return to 2.5%.

Which American Express Spend Offer is the most rewarding?

From a purely mathematical perspective, the offers centred around the INR 1 lakh, INR 2 lakh and INR 4 lakh spending milestones deliver the highest effective return of 2.5%. The INR 7 lakh milestone under Offers 2 and 3 provides a slightly lower effective return of approximately 2.14%, while the highest Taj voucher tiers settle at a flat 2%.

Of course, these rewards are incremental. Cardmembers will continue to earn the regular Membership Rewards points, cashback or milestone benefits attached to their respective American Express Cards in addition to these promotional rewards. As a result, if your natural spending during the offer period is likely to cross one of the milestones, registering for the offer can provide a meaningful boost to your overall rewards.

Registration is essential

As with previous American Express Spend Offers, eligible cardmembers will need to register for the promotion before making eligible purchases. Registration is available through the communication received from American Express, and only cardmembers who have been specifically targeted will be able to enrol.

Once registered, eligible spending made during the promotion period will count towards the applicable milestone, and the corresponding reward will be issued after the campaign concludes, subject to the offer terms and conditions.

Bottomline

American Express has once again launched a new batch of targeted Spend Offers for cardmembers in India, with rewards ranging from INR 1,000 promotional vouchers to INR 30,000 in Taj Experiences Gift Cards. Depending on the version you receive, the effective incremental reward ranges from 2% to 2.5%, making these worthwhile offers for cardmembers with significant planned spending.
