Avocado Banana Waffles for Babies (11 Months+)

Today we’re making little waffles for baby. Because baby loves eating with their fingers… and because we’re always looking for healthy, organic, low-sugar treats… why not make beautiful homemade waffles?

Even better, what if we made these waffles with avocado and banana? Using fruit to make cake batter is about as wholesome as it gets! And soy milk… this plant-based milk has such a mild flavor, it’s perfect for replacing cow’s milk and adding variety to baby’s milk options (you can obviously use cow milk if you want to!)

Hey pssst… don’t have a waffle maker? Feel free to make them as pan-fried pancakes instead! 😉

Waffles for Babies

These waffles have a melt-in-the-mouth texture that is pleasant for baby to chew. They’re light, and baby loves them!

Here’s what you’ll need to make this avocado, banana, and soy milk waffle recipe for your baby (from 11 months, makes about 8 small waffles):

Ingredients

Let’s start with the batter base. I used my blender to get the smoothest batter possible, with no lumps. I highly recommend doing the same!

So, in the blender, add the flour, sugar, and egg. Blend!

You’ll get a fairly thick batter. Add the soy milk. Blend again.

The batter will become slightly thinner. Then add the half banana and half avocado (cut into pieces beforehand to make blending easier), and blend one last time until you have a smooth waffle batter.

Our waffle batter is ready (easy and quick, just the way we like it!).

    Cooking

Heat the waffle maker after rubbing the plates with a paper towel lightly coated with sunflower oil. Once the plates are nice and hot, add about 2 tablespoons of batter per waffle (place the remaining batter in the refrigerator). Close the waffle maker and set the timer for 4 minutes 30 seconds. Don’t open it during cooking, to prevent the waffles from breaking!

Once the 4 minutes 30 seconds are up, turn off the waffle maker while leaving the waffles inside. Keep the waffle maker closed and wait patiently (about 15 minutes) for the waffles to cool and become easier to remove.

After 15 minutes, open the waffle maker very gently and remove the waffles!

I used a small round cookie cutter to make pretty mini round waffles, which are easier for baby to hold and devour 🙂

Our avocado, banana, and soy milk waffle recipe for baby (from 11 months) is now finished, and baby can enjoy it! (Store for up to 3 days in an airtight container.)

    Enjoy, baby 😉
