God specializes in people that are broken. Life seems unfair to people who have been born into families that have dysfunctions. And, although some of those dysfunctions can be severe, (because, I believe every family has some sort of issue). Unfortunately, some people will continue in dysfunction due to the learnt behavior of what happened to them growing up. And, the dysfunction just continues into the next generation.
But, how are we able to overcome the pain of abuse. One word comes to my mind. Jesus. Bad circumstances can lead people to deeper understanding of who God is. We can pick up our staff and keep it moving, or we can stay ignorant, and pass the torch of depression and pain to our children. However, I promise you, that if you continue to pursue Jesus. He will give you peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:6, which reads, “The Lord is Near! Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation with prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”.
