Vanessa & Sean Say I Do at Café Boulud

If there’s a place in Palm Beach that feels almost too beautiful to say, “I do”, it’s the palm-draped courtyard at Café Boulud Palm Beach at The Brazilian Court Hotel. Sunlit yellow stucco walls, swaying palms, velvet-accented interiors glowing in soft layered light, and a gentle Florida breeze drifting through an intimate Mediterranean-style courtyard. It’s the kind of setting that feels like it was dreamed up for a wedding.

That was exactly the reaction for Vanessa and Sean, who celebrated their wedding at the property this past season. The moment Vanessa walked into The Brazilian Court with her mother, she turned to her and said, ‘Okay, decision made. The colors, the atmosphere, the Old Florida charm, the intimacy of it all, it felt so personal and special in a way that’s hard to find, especially with wedding venues. And then you add Café Boulud on top of that, and it’s just unreal.’

The Old Florida charm, the intimacy, the old-world European elegance all reflected her aesthetic perfectly. And then there was the food, which left an impression all its own. Set within the sun-dappled courtyard of Café Boulud Palm Beach, guests were treated to an extraordinary culinary journey rooted in the celebrated legacy of internationally acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud. Under the masterful direction of Executive Chef Christopher Zabita, the evening unfolded as a seamless marriage of timeless French tradition and the vibrant, sun-kissed flavors of South Florida. The meal began with a delicate Salade d’Hiver, butternut squash adorned with briny bottarga breadcrumbs, a dish as beautiful to look at as it was to taste. Guests were then transported with a showstopping half Dover sole paired with silky spinach and mushroom pommes purée and finished with a luminous lemon beurre blanc. A prime filet followed, crowned with a melting pat of maître d’ butter that rendered every bite utterly indulgent. The evening closed on a bright, dreamy note with key lime meringue and a cooling coconut sorbet, a fitting finale for a Florida fairytale. Their guests, it’s safe to say, are still talking about it.

The ceremony was officiated by Vanessa’s best friend and set against the backdrop of the hotel and Café Boulud’s lushly cloaked courtyard, which she described as feeling like something out of a fairytale. The day was supposed to bring rain. It didn’t. The whole thing, from getting ready in her room at The Brazilian Court to the final moments of the night, felt, in her words, like a dream.
