One of the long-running themes in X-Men comics is peaceful coexistence of mutants and humans. It’s one of Charles Xavier’s (Professor X) core teachings and what the X-Men have been fighting for all this time. Recently, the team has been at odds with a shadowy group known as 3K. From near and afar, they’ve been causing chaos by turning humans into mutants – all in the name of Xavier’s teachings.
3K’s crusade will be dialled up significantly in the DNX – an X-Men and Fantastic Four comic book event. The organisation wants to make a dystopian vision of mutant supremacy a reality – turning all humans into mutants – with the X-Men and Fantastic Four opposed.
Discover how to read DNX with this reading order checklist. It has everything you need to get up to speed and make reading as simple as possible. This way, you can spend more time reading and less time trying to piece things together.

How to read DNX
DNX is like many Marvel comic book events. The core story is told in a miniseries, with supplemental comics expanding the reading experience through the perspective of different characters.
For DNX, this means there is a five-part miniseries of the same name that acts as the core story. After that, only two series tie into the event – X-Men (2024 series) and Fantastic Four (2025 series). Similar to Avengers: Armageddon, this makes it a tightly contained event.
It’s up to you if you want to read the tie-ins. However, since DNX and X-Men (2024 series) are both written by Jed MacKay, it’s likely these two comics will be closely connected. That may appeal to some readers who want to go deeper into this event.

Read the following if you’re trying to catch-up up on what’s ben happening in the world of the X-Men before checking out DNX.
X-Men (2024 series) #1-34
Written by Jed MacKay. Art by Ryan Stegman, Netho Diaz, Tony Daniel, Agustin Alessio, CF Villa, and Emilio Laiso.
The build-up to DNX happens in the pages of X-Men (2024 series). This is where the team of Cyclops, Beast, Magneto, Psylocke, Magick, Kid Omega, Temper, and others have taken on the threat of 3k.
It’s worth noting that this series has been caught up in crossovers with other X-Men titles. Issues #7 and #8 are part of Raid on Graymalkin; issue #13 is part of X-Manhunt; and the Age of Revelation is set between issues #22 and #23.
X-Men: Age of Revelation
Written and art by Various.
This comic book event spotlights a dystopian future of crushing mutant supremacy. A vision of this future was retained by various characters and is now a driving motivation for heroes and 3K to either avoid or achieve.

After X-Men/Fantastic Four: DNX
Marvel have kept what’s coming after DNX a secret at the time of writing. Writer Jed MacKay hinted in a discussion with AIPT Comics that there’s “going to be seeing some big changes in the team moving forward post-DNX.” It seems like DNX will be not a conclusion of the story MacKay has been telling but just the end of a specific chapter.
This guide will be updated when Marvel Comics announces what’s to come after DNX later this year.
