Kirby had some strange ideas when he worked for DC in the 1970s, and fewer were odder than his hippie inspired group of the Forever People….until, by editorial edict, he added Deadman (Boston Brand) to the mix (reintroducing the idea of Deadman hunting for his killer, after he had found him in Strange Adventures). Deadman even got a robot body to inhabit in Forever People #9 and #10 (June-July and August-September, 1972).
