Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid Launched in Japan: Price, Engine, 457 HP Power and New Features



Toyota launched the hybrid version of the latest Land Cruiser 300 series in Japan along with some new changes. Three variants of this vehicle will be available; GX, ZX, and GR Sport. This updated version will be available at the Japanese showroom from October 1, 2026. The 2027 Land Cruiser having the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel engine starts from an ex-showroom price of JPY 6.3 million (Rs. 38.2 lakh approx.).

The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine has been discontinued from the updated Land Cruiser 300 series in Japan. The base GX variant of the car will have only one option of the engine, and it is 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel engine, which has the capacity to generate 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque. In addition to that, Toyota has launched a self-charging hybrid powertrain in this SUV.

The self-charging hybrid powertrain comprises of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine along with one electric motor. This powertrain has 10-speed automatic transmission and 6.5Ah nickel-metal hydride battery. Toyota has made availability of this self-charging hybrid powertrain only for the ZX and GR Sport variants. With this hybrid powertrain, the performance of the car has been improved up to 457 hp and 790 Nm. Another major update to this SUV is a new electric power steering system.

The base GX variant features smaller air intakes integrated into the brake grille. Other features of the GX variant include aluminum side steps and 18-inch alloy wheels with a silver finish. The ZX diesel model’s styling remains unchanged. The new ZX HEV model features a redesigned front bumper extension.
