The Vulcan to the Sky Trust announced a new family-friendly Halloween and aviation heritage event at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, known as “Halloween Howl.” The event will take place on Oct. 31, 2026 and will feature an Avro Vulcan XH558.
What will the event feature?
The Halloween Howl event will offer visitors a chance to experience the sights and sounds of the Avro Vulcan XH558, the last Vulcan in military service, along with many other seasonal attractions and entertainment.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with gates opening at 9 a.m.
The event will have static displays of the Vulcan XH558 and Canberra WK163, classic vehicles, Halloween-themed entertainment, traders, food vendors and appearances by characters inspired by popular franchises such as Star Wars and Ghostbusters.
The main attraction of Halloween Howl will be a stationary engine ground run of the XH558. Visitors will be able to hear the aircraft’s four Rolls-Royce Olympus engines, producing a distinct sound enthusiasts call the “Vulcan Howl.”
Ticket prices and VIP experience
Tickets are priced at 30 pounds for adults and 2 pounds and 50 pence for children aged 5 to 15. Children’s tickets are limited to two children per adult ticket. Due to the loud noises generated during the engine run, children under the age of five will not be permitted to attend.
A limited-capacity VIP experience will also be available for 150 pounds, but is restricted to ages 16 and older. VIP visitors will receive an exclusive briefing from members of the XH558 team before being escorted to a dedicated viewing area that is significantly closer to the aircraft during the engine run. The experience includes a Vulcan XH558 high-visibility jacket, branded hearing defenders, a commemorative poster signed by crew members, a VIP goody bag and a numbered event lanyard.
