The Christmas Songs Book Tag has become a pretty popular feature on my blog each year as part of A Bookish Little Christmas! I created this tag in 2015 and bring it back each year for people to participate in. Because I do this every year, I am limiting my choices to books I’ve read in 2024. I’m also trying to only use one book one time, which will be tricky because this was a great reading year and I found multiple books that I really, really loved. You can do whatever you would like. 🙂
1. “All I Want for Christmas Is You”: Favorite bookish couple.
Nova and Charlie from Business Casual by B.K. Borison.
2. “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”: Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.).
One Last Shot by Betty Cayouette. Emerson and Theo are both in Italy for a photoshoot. She’s the model and he’s the photographer.
3. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”: Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.).
The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren. This was such a fun novella! I listened to the audio, and it was great.
4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town“: What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?
The pretty copy of The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst with the purple sprayed edges!
5. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: Which book turned your nose red (made you cry)?
The Christmas You Found Me by Sarah Morgenthaler. WHAT an emotional rollercoaster. It’s a wonderful book, but prepare to feel everything.
6. “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays.
I love reading Christmas romances this time of year! So far my favorite this year has been A Holiday By Gaslight by Mimi Matthews.
7. “We Three Kings”: Your favorite trilogy/book from a trilogy (or feel free to fudge it and pick a book from a series).
Never Blow a Kiss by Lindsay Lovise and Old Flames and New Fortunes by Sarah Hogle are two firsts in a series, both of which I’m obsessed with and can’t wait for more!
8. “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”: A character you would love to be snowed in with.
Adam from Four Weekends and a Funeral by Ellie Palmer. This man is perfection.
9. “Last Christmas”: A book that seriously let you down.
The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren. This could have been EVERYTHING, but the heroine is just so stupid. This is a book about the rich versus the poor, and the poor person sure did come off as stereotypically “dumb but cute, so it’s ok”.
10. “White Christmas”: An upcoming release you’re dreaming about.
Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros!! I am so excited!
Now it’s your turn! Which books would you choose for these prompts?
