Boeing and Royal Jordanian have signed multiple service agreements at the MRO Middle East conference to support the airline’s 787 Dreamliner fleet.
Boeing announced on February 10, 2025, that the two sides had put pen to paper over parts exchange programs and connectivity upgrades.
Royal Jordanian renewed and extended its 787-9 Component Services Program which ensures fast and easy access to components when needed.
“This comprehensive rotables exchange and repair service increases efficiency in the management of high-value, line-replaceable units,” said Boeing.
Royal Jordanian also entered the Landing Gear Exchange Program which provides a streamlined solution to help reduce maintenance and inventory management expenses and minimize down time.
“With this program, Royal Jordanian will be able to maintain reliability of landing gear and focus on the passenger experience,” said Boeing.
Finally, Boeing agreed to provide connectivity modification services for the current Royal Jordanian 787-8 fleet, enabling enhanced on-board internet connectivity upgrades
In addition, Royal Jordanian will implement the same connectivity standards on its new Boeing 787-9 planes upon delivery.
“This will standardize the on-board services and provide a superior passenger experience across the entire Royal Jordanian 787 Dreamliner fleet,” said Boeing.
The agreement was signed by Mohammad Maayta, the Head of Engineering and Maintenance at Royal Jordanian and Dave McKenna, the Regional Managing Director of Commercial Sales & Marketing at Boeing Global Services.
“We are confident that the Landing Gear Exchange and Component Service Programs from Boeing will help ensure our Dreamliners are maintained with efficiency and ready to fly,” said Maayta. “Additionally, the planned modifications to upgrade and standardize internet connectivity services on our 787 fleet will enable us to provide an enhanced on-board experience for our passengers.”
According to ch-aviation, Royal Jordanian currently operates a fleet of six Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and has an order in place for six 787-9s.
