Craft Beer Austin Commentary

I’ve been going to this event every year – this will be my 4th time!  The event is indoors, with an open air “backyard” section featuring food trucks and other vendors.  It’s on the smaller side of beer festivals, and considering the distance from Austin it tends to be less crowded than the larger festivals like TCBF, which means short lines and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beers.  Considering the low ticket price, and the fact that 100% of it goes directly to Habitat for Humanity, I encourage you all to make the trip to Taylor!

We also love beer passports, and Hops for Houses is one of the best ones – $25 for 16 drinks is a great deal.  The catch is that most of these locations are north and a bit spread out – so if you live in that direction and like exploring, I highly recommend signing up!  Just 4 visits or so and you will have earned its value.  (Phantom Warrior is on the list, and they’re one of my favorite breweries I visited last year, don’t sleep on them!)
