Bloomberg reported yesterday that they’ve seen internal memos showing Accenture will get around to promoting nearly 50,000 people globally — about 6% of the total workforce of around 801,000 — “as the company tries to boost morale after a six-month delay to weather a slump in demand for consulting services.” Staff found out on Tuesday.
Numbers of soon-to-be-promoted staff include 10,000 in Americas, 11,000 in Europe/Middle East/Africa, and 15,000 in India.
Accenture laid off 19,000 people in 2023 and delayed December promotions last year.
The company reported revenue of $64.9 billion in 2024, a 1% increase in US dollars and a 2% increase in local currency compared to 2023. That’s less than top Big 4 revenue leader Deloitte’s $67.2 billion in 2024 with growth of 3.6% in USD from 2023.
