NEIL MULLIKIN: From puzzle pieces to a picture

As a trip leader since 2021, it’s been a real treat to meet so many unique riders who have shaped more than 20 unique journeys.

This morning, Pam VanHoose cared so much for the group she made us a hot breakfast of sausage and eggs.   I swept with Maria, who is new to the Fuller Center and we discussed the world, our lives, and religion. Then I arrived at a church to not only see what great things the Fuller Center has done in Fitzgerald, but also meet the family, before they overfed us with an amazing dinner.  Lastly, I saw a group of individuals who reminded me of this morning’s devotional where they saw the state of the world and decided to do something about it. All who are participating in our adventure have provided an openness and willingness to communicate and their participation brings the puzzle into focus.

In its simplicity, we have several of those days on our rides.  Not only in the cross country but rides that span a week or two.  Yet, today I realized this team is very unique, multidimensional too.  The puzzle is coming together fast and will be one amazing picture when this trip is complete.  

This team has not only inspired me as a leader but reminded me why these journeys matter so deeply.
