A delegation from Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) has completed a review of Comac’s C909 training programs ahead of the country’s first two deliveries of the type, slated for November.
Speaking to Leeham News and Analysis (LNA), SSCA secretary of state and spokesperson Sinn Chanserey Vutha confirmed the delivery schedule under Air Cambodia’s 20-aircraft purchase agreement with Comac. Inked in July, the deal was the first batch order for the C909 by an overseas national flag carrier and firmed up a September 2025 memorandum of understanding covering 10 firm orders and 10 options.
After the first two aircraft, the remaining firm orders include two regional jets due in 2027, three in 2028, and three in 2029.

The 93-seat aircraft will be configured with three business-class seats and 90 in economy, Chanserey Vutha said. He added that Air Cambodia plans to deploy the type primarily on domestic routes and regional services within ASEAN and to China, with markets to be selected on passenger demand and route economics. Specific routes have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, preparations for the type’s introduction continue on the regulatory front. According to a blog post by training provider Hangjia Academy, an SSCA delegation concluded a technical exchange with Comac last week, reviewing the manufacturer’s C909 flight and maintenance training organizations across syllabus, curriculum, instructor qualifications, facilities and quality management.
The team received type-specific technical instruction and held talks on operating regulations, cabin operations and continued airworthiness. The two sides also signed an agreement on operational support, maintenance training and talent development.
