LAST CALL: Finnair Plus Buy Avios With 50% Bonus + Extra 10% Tier Points Through November 30, 2025
Finnair had two promotions during the pandemic that allowed members to earn 25% of the award points purchased as Tier Points, making it easy for you to “buy” Sapphire or Emerald status without any flying.
The promotion returned last week, but instead of a 25% Tier Points bonus, it is 10% with a 50% bonus on purchased Avios through today (November 30). You can also convert Finnair Avios at a 3:1 ratio from points to Tier Points with Tier-specific maximums.

Note that Finnair’s Avios purchase limit has been reset during this sale. The offer is available to Finnair Plus members who joined the program before November 16 and have at least 50 Avios in their account.

The price of an Avios purchased at the maximum bonus is 1.4 euro cents each.

Maximum Tier Points from Avios Purchase
You can buy a maximum of 200,000 Avios (300,000 with the bonus), which also comes with 20,000 Tier Points.
If you are a current Platinum member with at least 20,000 Tier Points, you could requalify by buying the maximum allowed under this sale, which comes with 20K Tier Points, and then converting 120K Avios to 40K Tier Points.

Conclusion
Finnair has several ways of requalifying or qualifying for status, and converting Avios to Tier Points exchange can make sense, considering that Gold (Oneworld Sapphire) comes with 4 upgrade vouchers and Platinum (Oneworld Emerald) with 12 (you can use these for long-haul upgrades at a 3:1 ratio).
Buying purely Avios under this sale doesn’t make much sense, since they are on sale at 50% off or a 100% bonus a few times a year, and the bonus maxes at 50% this time. 40% off at least a couple of times a year (see the update above), unless you need extra Tier Points.
I got my Finnair Plus Platinum using one of these sales during the pandemic, then qualified once or twice, but I will let it lapse this year and drop to Gold in 2026 (but I have lifetime Sapphire from AA and Emerald from BA).
