Blake Lively’s Betty Booze is expanding with a new vodka-based ready-to-drink cocktail range.
Launched in 2023 as a complement to Lively’s non-alc mixer brand, Betty Buzz, Betty Booze markets a range of 4.5% ABV RTD cocktails, sold in 4-packs of 12 oz cans for $14.99. The lineup thus far had focused on sparkling tequila and sparkling bourbon drinks, sold at retailers like Total Wine & More, BevMo, Whole Foods, Sprouts and other national outlets, as well as on Princess Cruises.
The brand’s first-ever vodka cocktails — Vodka Iced Tea + Meyer Lemonade and Vodka Iced Tea + Passion Fruit — promise to be “bright, juicy and sippable,” per a press release this morning, and are each made with real black tea and fruit juice.
“With a taste that’s crisp, easy, comforting and clean – and with beautiful cans to match – our new Vodka lineup is Meyer Lemonade Iced Tea and Passionfruit Iced Tea,” said Lively in a release. “Whether you’re at a BBQ, a beach hang, or just spending time at home, our new Vodka Teas are made from recipes created in my home, by hand, built to share and enjoy.”
Both Lively’s brands are housed under Betty B Holdings, of which Andrew T. Chrisomalis is the co-founder and chairman. Chrisomalis was a co-founder at Davos Brands, a brand development house that partnered with actor Ryan Renyolds (Lively’s husband) when he became owner of Aviation Gin in 2018. The brand was subsequently sold to Diageo two years later, with Davos Brands included in the transaction. Pantalones Organic Tequila, the premium label created by actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila in 2023, also lists Chrisomalis as a co-founder and chairman of the board.
According to the US Patent Trademark Office, Betty B Holdings has a pending application to register “BETTY BREW” as a trademark to cover the categories of coffee drinks, prepared coffee and coffee-based beverages.
Even as overall alcohol consumption is on the slide, many celebrities, particularly women, have sought out experienced beverage operators to help them break into the burgeoning RTD cocktail market. Jennifer Lopez introduced her Beam Suntory-backed brand House of Delola in 2023, enlisting support from individuals who had previously worked on Dwayne Johnson’s Teremana Tequila and Conor McGregor’s Proper Twelve Whiskey.
Kylie Jenner’s Sprinter vodka soda got off to a fast start last year, while Sinners star Hailee Steinfeld introduced her Angel Margarita brand in February in partnership with Jordi Zindel and Rodrigo Hernandez of Premium Beers Group.
