Equal Measures UK has appointed further industry legends to its Board to expand its sector reach, skillset, and networks.
The incoming Board members include:
- Iain McPhershon (#2 Bar World 100 List 2026; CLASS Bar Awards Innovator ofthe Year 2023-2026; Best International Bar Mentor at Tales of the Cocktail 2025;Owner of Panda & Sons)
- Sandrae Lawrence (Tales of the Cocktail Board Member; #23 Bar World 100 List2026; Dame Hall of Fame 2021; Editor of The Cocktail Lovers)
- Silvana Kill (COO Night Time Industries Association and the UK Door SecurityAssociation; Chair of Ask for Clive)
They will be joining the current members of Equal Measures Founder, Deano Moncrieffe, and Claire Chin (Digital and Ecommerce Manager at Bestway Wholesale).
Speaking on his new appointment, Iain McPherson states,
“I love how Equal Measures is a voice for better equity in the drinks industry and I have been trained a couple times on EDI, which was beneficial and vital for the industry and further afield. I look forward to making an impact on many levels but mostly on visibility strategic planning, help with sponsorships and, when I do one day leave, seeing it in a better place than when I joined.”
Sandrae Lawrence adds,
“I’ve been an admirer and supporter of everything that Equal Measures UK stands for since it launched in 2020, so to be on the Board is an absolute honour. I cannot wait to get stuck in!”
Silvana Kill’s introduction further develops Equal Measures’ growth into the nighttime economy and strengthens its current work around safeguarding workers. She explains,
“I am particularly keen to support collaborative funding projects & joint ventures, bringing organisations together around shared values and practical programmes that create opportunities for underrepresented people. I believe partnership work can strengthen funding applications, extend our reach, and enable us to deliver a far greater impact than any organisation could achieve alone. Having spent nearly 30 years working across the night-time economy, security, safeguarding, HR and EDI, I have seen how powerful meaningful change can be when people come together with honesty, courage and a genuine commitment to doing better. I have also seen how often talented people are still excluded, overlooked or expected to navigate barriers that shouldn’t exist in the first place.
Equal Measures is not just about talking about inclusion; it is about creating practical opportunities, challenging outdated systems and helping people feel that they truly belong. That really matters to me.”
The expansion of the multi-award-winning non-profit will promote ripple effects within the industry around EDI, safeguarding, policy change, and more, at a time when this is most needed in the sector.
