Other than the spoken word in the opening selection, Brainscape is all electronic and instrumental. Ambient electronic pathways opening as listeners glide with heighten curiosity. Each sonic gently sweeping elbow switching back to collect drifting thoughts. The second track “Apparso” lifts us from the mundane, carries thoughts and feelings to places beyond our worn tracks. 1STR1C3 has patience and deft creativeness, not just an ambient meditation composition, more introspection into the details. How sounds work together, echoing rhythms from multifarious sources. Fascinating calls from a dextrous conscious, from interweaves rich with warm energy. Slight rhythmic turbulence and misty lengths placid drift, these selections with Brainscape pull us most compellingly in. Then “Risveglio”, body hairs flare and the mind races to things it knows. Ultimately listeners take a final chill with “Titoli di Coda”, the last and longest selection of Brainscape. A capricious lounge burner compared to both mood and body of the composition as a whole.
As mentioned, released on Sud Afternoon Tapes out of Monza, Italy. Very limited edition of twenty cassettes with only nine remaining at the time this is written. Please take a moment and really listen, such a well composed feeling. I did see Davide noted as 1STR1C3.
