Glasspack – Rarefied Airs

Going one step back from an early description on Lost in a Sea of Sound for Glasspack…. Here is their debut release titled Rarefied Airs. This was from last year and some vinyl copies are available from Ian G. McColm (only a few) in the States and Stoned to Death in Europe. This is the OG burner from Henry Birdsey (Bagpipes) and Ian McColm (Electronics) and no matter when it was released, always a melt for select moments. Rarefied Airs is simply divided into two selections, side A and side B. An early approach utilizing longer pieces while the following release Double for Horse Dancer has five tracks. Note, the most similar between these two releases is the longest track on Double for Horse Dancer titled “Bends For Tether”. The biggest difference is how much more unfiltered both selections on Rarefied Airs sound. Like Henry and Ian got together and let everything out then regrouped on Double for Horse Dancer and worked with a little more refinement. Both albums are spectacular but if you like the origins, thee initial gathering of two very talented artists and the no holds barred beginning, seek this album out. And turn it up on the good stereo system.

As mentioned, vinyl copies are available from Ian G. McColm (only a few) in the States and Stoned to Death in Europe. Very cool album artwork going so well with the sounds inside.
