Although I visited less & less over the years, I was at one time a huge fan of Hypnos.com, the ambient label run by Mike Griffin. Over the years, I made MANY purchases such as Viridian Sun, Maj Ja Le, Vir Unis, Vidna Obmana, Jeff Pearc., Dave Fulton, Various Artist compilations, Zero Point, etc.
One of my favorite discoveries was ‘Smile on the Void’, by A Produce (a favorite disc to this day!)
I went to look them up the other day, and found this.
* Hypnos Recordings announced in May 2023 that the label would shut down by the end of the year due to lack of time to continue running a record label and mail‑order business.
- The Hypnos Forum was permanently closed because of increasing spam and hacking attempts.
- The Soundswim store continued selling remaining CDs through the end of 2023, with plans for the music to remain available through other outlets afterward.
- The announcement was signed by Mike and Lena Griffin, confirming the end of active operations.
