The unexpected and sad passing of Bob Rusche – legendary radio maker and host for the ‘X-rated’ show for more than 30 years, as well as the weekly X-Ray show, has left a large gap in the Concertzender‘s Sunday evening schedule. So there had to be some changes in the broadcast schedule.
One of this is that the monthly DreamScenes radioshow will be scheduled on the FIRST Sunday every month (instead of the second) on 23:00 instead of 20:00 (UTC+1). That’s the slot where Bob used to present his X-Ray program.
Every óther Sunday of the month, also on 23:00, I will compile a new ambient-/electronic radio hour called ‘Liminal State‘. Liminal State will present sounds that fit that time of evening: electronic music to accompany the moment between being awake and falling asleep.
Liminal State offers more room to present longer tracks, or more than one track from the same album. And uit will not only feature recent releases: it’ll also include highlights from the extensive history of ‘ambient’ music. Its focus will be music that fits the broadcast time – music that ‘is as interesting as it is ignorable’.
Unlike the monthly DreamScenes editions, the Liminal State shows will nót be published here on Ambientblog. But, like all programs on Concertzender, they will remain available to stream on-demand after the broadcast, via the site as well as with the Concertzender app.
So you can still listen even if the broadcast time doesn’t suit you – or if you have crossed the ‘liminal state’ already and are well asleep at that time…
