Tausch – Mono-005: Evolving Ambient Layers with Synth and Processed Guitar – Frequency State

Mono-005 is the latest track from Tausch, a collaboration between London-based electronic artist Rob Parton (Arconic) and Berlin-based guitarist Ben Fawkes. This cross-border project explores ambient sound design, focusing on slow development, layered textures, and tonal nuance.

The track begins with quiet, low-frequency synth pulses that loop steadily, establishing a minimal and meditative base. Gradually, higher-pitched layers emerge—subtle melodic fragments and atmospheric tones that create a rising sense of space and presence.

As Mono-005 progresses, vocal-like textures and fragments of melody begin to surface. The composition becomes more intense over time, but never breaks its ambient character. Instead, the added layers build momentum gradually, ebbing and flowing to create movement without disruption.

Processed guitar tones are blended into the mix with restraint, contributing to the overall atmosphere rather than leading it. The use of time-stretching and spatial effects gives the piece its evolving quality, making it feel organic despite its synthetic core.
